Copyright Violation! My Content Was Stolen!

I am outraged right now! It was just brought to my attention that another website has stolen one of my articles and is not referencing me, the original author, at all!

I found out because my article, How to Start an Advertising Campaign, just got denied from a ezine -article website because they said it wasn’t original content! Now I look like the thief and I am being penalized when I am a victim of plagiarism.

I worked really hard on this article & all of the others too & I would never dream of stealing someone else’s work & can’t imagine that someone else would do that, but they did.

I emailed this company and demanded that they remove my content immediately.

The scary thing is that it’s so easy for anyone to steal copy from another website & use as their own. Which leads me to many questions:

  • How can you prove who the original author is?
  • How can I prevent this from happening again?
  • How do you know when someone is illegally using your content?

Has anyone had a similar problem? What did you to resolve the issue?

You can also find out what read the billboard is, get the traffic counts (DEC’s) and find out if the sign is illuminated. When you find one you’re interested in, just click “contact us about this billboard” fill out the form and one of our salesmen will be in touch with you soon.

You can now Upload Art directly from our website. Just go to http://www.bpsoutdoor.com/artupload or go to the bottom of the service page and you’ll see a button that says “Upload Art” when you click this button, it will take you to a page where you can upload all your art files directly to BPS.

Outdoor advertising is the last type of advertising most business owners think about, yet it is the cheapest and most effective type of advertising! Here are several facts about billboard advertising and how it can benefit you and your business.

Billboard Facts

  • You can’t turn off a billboard… it’s always in your face. Compared to print, TV & radio you can always see your billboard all though you can skip commercials, change channels, or find some other way to avoid hearing or seeing other types of ads.
  • More people can view one particular billboard than the super-bowl! (The billboard must be located in a high traffic area like most Interstate billboards.)
  • Billboards are viewed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by billions of different people.
  • OAAA did a study in 1999 that says people glance at 70% of the billboards they pass. Of these billboards, 63% are actually read. Most other types of media can not compare to this.
  • Billboards reach 93% of all Americans.
  • Outdoor Advertising costs 80% less than television advertising, 60% less than newspaper ads, and 50% less than radio advertisements.

Traffic

  • There are 53% more automobiles and 102% more road trips over the past 30 years.
  • The number of traveling and household vehicles has risen six times faster than the population rate.
  • According to a study by Arbitron, people are spending less time reading and watching television because they are spending more time traveling to and from work. The average American is in a car for15 hours per week!

What do I have to do to get a billboard ad up?

1. Find a billboard location: Our salesmen can provide you with detailed electronic proposals which include spotted maps, photos, rates, DEC’s, cost per thousand & more. Get your Quick Rate Today!

2. Finalize Locations: We’ll need to execute contracts to secure billboard locations.

3. Design: After you’ve picked the perfect billboard for your business, you’ll be directed to our Design Team to discuss your ideas for your sign or to upload your own artwork. You will be in direct contact with an artist, there is no middle man involved in the design process. Find out more about the design process

4. Production: Once your billboard advertisement is ordered, it generally takes 10 -14 days to get it posted live in the air. You will receive photos and completion reports for your records shortly after your billboard is posted.

What else do I need to know?

  • Billing: You will receive your first bill the following month. We offer several different payment options for your convenience.
